West Norfolk offers a magical mix of idyllic atmospheric rural and coastal villages, where you can truly relax, unwind and slow down to a better pace of life.
Much of West Norfolk is characterised by wonderful rolling countryside, full of fascinating and attractive villages, where cottages of flint or Norfolk carstone cluster around ancient village ponds or village greens.
This magical landscape, dotted with church spires and windmills is a wonderful tapestry of rural England at its best. To the south of King’s Lynn, the mysterious and magical Fens provide a sheer sense of space, vast skies, wildlife and total tranquillity which are not to be missed.
Much of the coastline along with the countryside and villages that nestle inland is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, part of the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which covers around 450 square kilometres. To the south of Hunstanton towards King’s Lynn and then west towards Sutton Bridge, the coastline forms part of The Wash, the largest estuary system in the UK, that is recognised internationally as a critically important site for wildlife.
